Group Racing and Competition Regulations
(Amended 18 november 2012)

All Group Promotions shall be run in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of Cycling Time Trials.

2. The Group shall promote a programme of events each year to be decided by the Committee and forwarded to the South East District of the CTT as required for inclusion in the National and local calendars as appropriate. Awards for these events are to be scaled to a minimum number in accordance with the entries received. A list of the agreed scale of awards is to be sent, by the Time Trials Secretary, to all promoters of Group Events before the end of February of the current year. A further copy to be sent to the CTT District Secretary, setting out the Group’s Prospectus for the year’s Events. Minimum awards for the Kent Group Events are shown on Appendix A (attached).

3. The Best All Rounder trophy and plaque will be awarded annually to the Group member with the greatest improvement over Standard calculated in miles per hour over 25, 50, 100 miles and 12 hours, Open and Association Events on Q Courses only to count, except that the Group Committee may at their discretion include any Event organised other than on a Q course where it is felt necessary to satisfy the needs of the Competition. Such event(s) to be decided prior to the commencement of each season. Medals will be awarded to those placed second and third and certificates to all other finishers.

4. The Ladies Championship trophy (Doris Veitch Memorial Shield) and plaque will be awarded annually to the lady Group member having the greatest improvement over Standard, calculated in miles per hour over two Events at 10 miles and two Events at 25 miles. Open and Association Events on Q Courses only to count, Medals will be awarded to those placed second and third and certificates to all other finishers.

The “85” Championship trophy and medal will be awarded annually to the Group member having the greatest improvement in time over Standard from Open and Association Events at 10, 25 and 50 miles on Q Courses. Medals will be awarded to those placed second and third and certificates to all other finishers with an improvement of 30 minutes or more over Standard.

6. The 10 miles Championship trophy (Dave Wright Cup) and medal will be awarded annually to the Group member having the greatest improvement over Standard in a 10 miles Event that has been designated by the Committee as the Group Championship. Medals will be awarded to those placed second and third.

7. The George Stanford trophy and medal will be awarded annually to the Group member having the greatest improvement over Standard in the Group 15 miles promotion. Medals will be awarded to those placed second and third.

8. The Wilf How trophy and medal will be awarded annually to the Group member over the age of 65 on the day of the Event, having the greatest improvement over standard in the Group 15 miles promotion and third.

9. The 25 miles Championship trophy (Jack Hunter Cup) and medal will be awarded annually to the Group member having the greatest improvement over Standard in a 25 miles Event that has been designated by the Committee as the Group Championship. Medals will be awarded to those placed second

10 The 30 miles Championship trophy (Charles Robson Cup) and medal will be awarded annually to the Group member having the greatest improvement over Standard in a 30 miles Event that has been designated by the Committee as the Group Championship. Medals will be awarded to those placed second and third.

11. The 50 miles Championship trophy (Peter Philpott Cup) and medal will be awarded annually to the Group member having the greatest improvement over Standard in a 50 miles event that has been designated by the Committee as the Group Championship. Medals will be awarded to those placed second and third.

12. The 100 miles Championship trophy and medal will be awarded annually to the Group member having the greatest improvement over Standard in a 100 miles event that has been designated by the Committee as the Group Championship. Medals will be awarded to those placed second and third.

13. The 12 hours Championship trophy and medal (Sittingbourne CC Cup and Bill Woodruff Tankard) will be awarded annually to the Group member having the greatest improvement over Standard in a 12 hours Event that has been designated by the Committee as the Group Championship. Medals will be awarded to those placed second and third.

14. The Bill Woodruff trophy and medal will be awarded annually to the Group member having the greatest improvement over Standard in any 12 hours Event.

15. The 24 hours Championship trophy (Charles Robson Cup) and medal will be awarded annually to the Group member having the greatest improvement over Standard in any 24 hours Event. Medals will be awarded to those placed second and third.

16. The Morris Crow trophy and medal will be awarded annually to the Group member having the greatest improvement over Standard in the Autumn 10 miles promotion.

17. The McMillan Shield and medals will be awarded annually to the Club team of two Group members having the greatest improvement over Standard in the Group Summer 10 miles promotion.

18. The Aubrey Sheather Shield (and replica) will be awarded annually to the Group member having the greatest improvement over Standard in the Group Summer 25 miles promotion.

19. The Don Hook trophy and medals will be awarded annually to the Club team of 2 Group members having the greatest combined improvement over Standard in the Group Best All Rounder Competition.

2o. The Ernie Hall trophy and medals will be awarded annually to the Club team of 2 Group members having the greatest combined improvement over Standard in the Kent CA 12 hours Event.

21. The Mick Dansie trophy and medal will be awarded annually to the Group member having the greatest improvement over Standard in the Group Spring 10 miles promotion.

22. The Geoff Jones Trophy and Medal will be awarded annually to the Group member having the aggregate greatest improvement over standard in the three ten mile time trials organised by the group.

23. All members who think they qualify for Competitions 3, 4, 5, 15 and 16 must submit a Claims Form to the Group Recorder, to be received by him no later than 31st October of the current year. Claims Forms are available from the Group Recorder. Claims received after 31st October will not be accepted.

24. Sacred Post trophy. The VTTA (Kent Group) Committee will decide who will receive this award. It can be awarded to anyone in Kent Cycling (need not be a Group member), who has made a worthy contribution to the Group or Kent Cycling in general, not covered by other awards. It need not be awarded each year.
