Mid-Week VTTA (Kent Group)2nd May TT on Q10/37

Due to road works on the Q10/37 the midweek Vets event on 2nd May has had to be cancelled. Unfortunately there is not enough time to get a police notice in to change the course to the Q10/38. Could people please spread the word in order to stop anyone incurring an unnecessary journey. The 6th June event will be on the usual Q10/38 course.

The First Wednesday Ten

The result of the first Wednesday ten of the year can be found on the results page. The pluses are based on the new standards so may look slightly odd compared to previous years.

If you ride the series and want to be included in the competition you do have to marshall for one event, so please let Duncan know which of the remaining Wednesday's you want to put your name down for.

GS Invicta 25 mile Time Trial Sunday 10 June 2012

The time trial scheduled to be run by GS Invicta on Sunday 10 June 2012 on the Q25/8 has had to be cancelled. There will be no replacement event this season.

New Standards Tables Agreed for 2012

At the National VTTA Annual General Meeting on 28 January the motion to introduce the new Standards Tables was agreed. After a prolonged discussion the voting was 22 to 10 in favour of the motion. The two Kent delegates voted against the motion, in line with the wishes of the majority of the Group’s members who replied to the questionnaire in the Winter KVN News. Although the formal minutes have yet to be received and some implementation details are still to be ratified by the VTTA NEC, it is the firm intention that the new tables will be used in all VTTA events in 2012 and henceforth. Copies of the tables were distributed with the meeting agenda enclosed with the December issue of the "Veteran" and are also available for inspection on the national website at http://veteran-cycling-standards.org.uk/standards.htm. It is the Groups intention to publish the new Standard Tables in the Spring issue of the KVN.

Very Hot and Humid. Almost windless, but harder than I expected. Some of you revelled in it. A good turn out for August.
